Good to know
Questions we are asked most
Where the yacht is well prepared and correctly priced, three to nine months is typical, with larger and more specialised vessels toward the longer end. Preparation shortens it; optimistic pricing extends it indefinitely.
Value comes from closed sales of genuinely comparable yachts — same make, model and generation — adjusted for year, hours, condition and equipment. We build that analysis from live transaction data and show you the reasoning line by line.
Generally no, beyond rectifying safety, structural or visibly deferred items. Elective work rarely returns its cost. The exception is where a major event is imminent enough that buyers will discount it more heavily than it would cost to complete.
Yes. A defined universe of qualified buyers can be approached directly under confidentiality, with the yacht's identity withheld until a buyer is properly qualified. A quiet campaign can always go public later; the reverse is not true.
Expect findings — every yacht produces them. Separate genuine material defects from routine items, address them individually on evidence, and keep the adjustment proportionate. Your own pre-sale survey removes most of the surprise.
Start from the agreed price, then deduct commission, any finance payoff, agreed survey allowance and closing costs. Use the calculator above for an indicative figure — we prepare a precise one before you accept anything.
