Survey & Sea Trial — the Seller’s Side
Most deals wobble at survey. Preparation and honest disclosure keep yours on track.
Expect the survey
The buyer will survey and sea-trial the yacht. Surprises here cause re-negotiation or collapse. Knowing your boat’s condition in advance lets you price and disclose accordingly.
Prepare the yacht
A serviced, clean, well-documented yacht surveys better and reassures the buyer. Address known small issues before listing rather than at the table under pressure.
Manage the re-negotiation
Some findings are fair grounds for adjustment; many are minor. We keep survey re-negotiations proportionate and evidence-based so a good deal survives to closing.
