Overview
Princess S72 (2017) | The Pioneering Model of the Revolutionary S Class
First unveiled at the Miami International Boat Show in 2014, the Princess S72 marked a bold new direction for the British shipyard as the very first model in the revolutionary S Class. In 2015, it won the Motor Boat & Yachting Award for "Motor Boat of the Year -- Above 55ft." By 2017, the S72 had already established itself as a mature and refined representation of the S Class philosophy.
Exterior & Design
The S72 features a distinctive, aggressive silhouette with sleek, flowing lines. Built on a deep-V hull, it measures 22.55 metres (74 feet) in length (including bow rail) with a beam of 5.38 metres and a draft of 1.48 metres. Its signature innovation is the Sport-fly concept -- a compact yet fully functional flybridge that serves both as an intimate relaxation area and an open-air helm station offering exceptional visibility.
Performance
Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines, each producing up to 1,700-1,800 horsepower, the S72 achieves a top speed of 37-40 knots, with a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 34 knots. The hull is constructed using resin-infused GRP, delivering a lightweight yet extremely strong structure. The yacht handles with agility and confidence through turns. When equipped with the optional Seakeeper NG9 gyro stabiliser, it remains remarkably steady even at anchor.
Interior Layout
The S72 is available in two configurations: a three-cabin version (standard) or a four-cabin version (optional). The standard layout accommodates six guests as follows:
· Full-beam master stateroom (midships): double bed, vanity desk, sofa, 40-inch TV, and ensuite bathroom
· Forward VIP cabin: double bed with private ensuite
· Starboard twin cabin: twin beds with private ensuite
· Crew cabin (aft): twin berths with dedicated facilities
The interior is finished in rich walnut satin wood, while large hull side windows flood the accommodation with natural light.
Decks & Flybridge
The aft deck features a hydraulic bathing platform and a garage capable of storing a 3.9-metre tender. The flybridge is equipped with a U-shaped sofa, a folding teak table, a wet bar with sink and electric barbecue grill, and a hardtop with an electrically opening sunroof.
