New, Used or New-Build: Which Route?
Each route has a very different cost, timeline and risk profile. Choose the one that fits your budget and patience.
Pre-owned (brokerage)
The largest and most flexible market. You can inspect and sea-trial the actual boat, negotiate on evidence, and often find strong value — particularly on yachts two to five years old that have taken their steepest depreciation. Condition varies, so survey is essential.
New (stock or in-build)
A new yacht offers the latest design, full warranty and the chance to specify options, but carries the first owner’s depreciation. Stock boats are available quickly; ordered boats involve a wait and staged payments.
Full custom new-build
The ultimate in personalisation and the longest, most complex route — multi-year timelines, detailed contracts and stage payments against build milestones. It rewards clarity of vision and professional oversight throughout.
