Making an Offer & Negotiating
A strong offer is built on evidence, structure and calm — not on a number plucked from the asking price.
Anchor to evidence, not asking price
Asking prices are opinions. A comparative market analysis of real, recent comparables tells you what a yacht is actually worth — and lets you make an offer you can justify and defend.
Structure protects you
A written offer on a standard contract, with a deposit in escrow and clear survey and sea-trial conditions, keeps you safe. The conditions are as important as the price: they are your route to renegotiate or withdraw.
Keep leverage in reserve
The survey almost always surfaces something. Experienced buyers leave room to adjust after survey rather than bidding their absolute best up front. Patience and preparation win far more than aggression.
