Berthing & Marinas
A berth is part of the true cost of ownership — and in prime harbours, the hardest thing to secure.
Plan the berth with the boat
Where you keep the yacht shapes how much you use it and what it costs to run. In popular cruising grounds, berths for larger yachts are scarce and carry long waiting lists — plan mooring alongside the purchase, not after.
Annual, visitor or owned
Options range from an annual marina contract, to visitor berths as you cruise, to buying or leasing a berth outright in some marinas. Each has different cost, flexibility and resale implications.
Local knowledge helps
Securing a good berth is often about relationships and timing. NGY can point you to the right marinas for your yacht and cruising plans and help you get on the right lists early.
