North American steel was used in the original hull construction (1982), giving Anne S. Pierce a level of strength and resilience unmatched by modern lightweight alternatives.

Between 2019?2021, all systems were either replaced with new North American components or completely rebuilt, ensuring reliability and serviceability worldwide.

The 1982 commercial-grade hull provided the perfect foundation to remanufacture the vessel with modern technology, while retaining the durability of heavier steel and proven design.

In contrast, many new builds rely on lighter steel and higher levels of computerization ? advances that can sometimes reduce dependability in remote or heavy-sea conditions.
