The mission of the Pershing 92 is to transport her guests in utter luxury to most anywhere they want to go as fast or faster than virtually any production 90' motoryacht on the water. For Pershing, that means traveling over 40 knots. Further, Pershing does that with reasonable power.

Most major metropolitan areas on a coast have a destination resort easily within striking distance of the 92, in terms of both range and time. For example, in the Med all of the Balearic Islands are within 200 nm of Barcelona, Porto Cervo is less than 200 nm from Rome, virtually all of the Greek islands are within 200 nm of Athens. That means in five hours a party can be taken to any one of hundreds of resort destinations.

In the U.S. most of the Bahamas are within 300 miles of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, or Palm Beach. Nantucket is only 250 miles from Wall Street. Bar Harbor is only 210 miles from Boston Commons. The North Channel in Canada is only 250 miles from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. 

With a range of 385 nautical miles at 38 knots the Pershing 92 can reach most any regional destination in a few hours without stopping for more fuel.

"Addiction" has an earth-tone pallet for both the saloon and the accommodations. The builder relies heavily on Canaletto walnut wood with a horizontal pattern. This is augmented with ebony. Fabrics, wall coverings, and overhead panels are in shades of tan, sand, and light brown. Both black, white and gray anthracite-colored lacquer is used on overhead panels, bulkhead accents and overhead battens. 

LED lighting was used wherever possible thus reducing the hazard of fire and conserving on electricity at the same time. Soft touch dimmer switches are used throughout the boat. 

The furniture both in the saloon and below is contemporary and in all cases.  The mattress-on-platform treatment in the staterooms is something found both in Europe and in Asia in five-star hotels. The interior bulkheads of the shower stalls are finished in mosaic which an upgrade from the fiberglass or lacquered composite which is usually used in this class of boat. 

Poltrona Frau Leather is used extensively "Addiction", particularly on headboards in the staterooms and in accents. Virtually all of the furniture and cabinets are made of Canaletto walnut and ebony. Carpet covers the GRP soles throughout the boat. 

Virtually all curtains are electrically actuated as are hidden flat screen TVs and other devices. 

Galley below and aft. Europeans like their galleys out of sight and out of mind. The best way to do that is to re-position this area below, so that is what Pershing has done. But Pershing had an even better idea -- put the galley aft of the center of the boat on the centerline. From a chef's point of view this might be the best place on the boat because of reduced motion -- low, in the center of the boat and amidships. Access is via a stairway in the port corner of the saloon so that meals can be easily served both to the aft deck or the dining table forward. 

Pershing has worked hard to get weight out of this boat, bringing her in at 152,112 lbs. (68,999 kgs.) dry. By comparison, other boats in class might run from 170,000 lbs. (77,110 kgs.) to as much as 230,000 lbs. (104,326 kgs.) dry. The builder has been able to do that by coring the hull and deck with PVC foam and by vacuum infusing the laminate with vinylester resin. This process is not easy to do in such a large boat and is time-consuming and expensive.

In addition, Pershing laminates its bulkheads with a foam core and for lightness, using the same vacuum infusion method. The vessel's interior floors and decks are made of fiberglass, and not plywood which is used by many builders in motoryachts of this size. These techniques together with a sleek superstructure make the boat light without sacrificing strength.

Glass tanks. The yacht's fuel tanks (2,378 gal./9,002 L) and water tank (317 gal./1,200 L) are both made out of vinylester resin. It is not easy making strong, reliable tanks out of fiberglass.  They are better for several reasons. First, it allows the builder to construct tanks that fit the bottom shape of the hull. This means that the weight can be placed as low as possible, thereby lowering the vessel's CG. Secondly, the tanks effectively become a second bottom where they meet the hull, thereby providing puncture protection. Third, the owner does not have to worry about corrosion -- and subsequent fuel leaks -- that can occur on aluminum tanks. Glass fuel tanks are the best way to go on a yacht of this size and caliber.

"Addiction" has one of the very best engine room layouts in the industry. It is accessed both from the aft deck and from the galley. The deck is aluminum, and there are demisting devices on the engine room air intakes both port and starboard. These devices are expensive but we like keeping salt mist out of the engine room and away from electrical connections.

The boat comes equipped with two 23 kW generators, a watermaker, and emergency engine shutdown and automatic fire suppression system. Like all Ferretti Group yachts, there is an emergency dewatering valve on the raw water cooling intakes for both of the primary engines. In an emergency, there is not a faster way to dewater the engine room.

There are power take offs on both the ZF 3070 transmissions and on the engines themselves. These PTOs power the hydraulic bow thruster and stern thruster. A separate hydraulic system handles the garage door, aft deck door, swim ladder and other devices. 
In addition, a hydraulic heat exchanger was installed to cool the hydraulic oil, which is somewhat unusual. Most of the rest of the equipment in the engine room is pretty much expected on this grade and size of yacht. 

"Addiction" is equipped with the new auto trim system that controls the trim and the drives.

She is set up to handle both US and European Power.
