Fuel System (650)

  1. Fuel is stored in two dedicated tanks (1 x daily service tank and 1 x (optional) main tank) integral ith hull structure complete with permanently open vent lines (note: all tanks should not be filled bove 95%)
  2. Main engines and generators draw and return from fittings on the day tank located within the engine room
  3. Bunkering to both tanks through individual filling stations, port and starboard each fitted with a 2” fitting for filling and venting
  4. Fuel level indication - displayed at main helm and fill
  5. Accurate fuel monitoring via Tank Volume Computer with digital bar-graph display at main helm and analogue indication at fill
  6. Warning lights indication at 75% & 95% at fuel filling station
  7. Each tank fitted with two capacitance level probes c/w NMEA 2000 communication bus
  8. Accurate measurement for fuel levels can be taken when underway at speeds up to 12 knots before running trim will adversely affect the accuracy of the readings
  9. Fuel piping (engine room) - press fit type stainless steel & zinc plated steel with Parker high temperature rubber hose (single wire reinforcement) for short lengths
  10. Fuel piping (all areas outside the engine room) ISO 7840 fuel hose except fuel transfer line
  11. Emergency fuel shut-off valves to main engines and generators - located on tank hatch. Valves remotely operated and actuated from the fire control locker with local manual override
 


Fire main/Fire Extinguishing System

Fire Main System (635)

  1. The fire main system and the emergency bilge system share the AC, engine driven and the portable diesel pumps.
  2. Primary fire hydrant (default) pump - centrifugal type - 400V AC - self-priming - capacity 45m3/hr @ 10m head - operated via switches located on the port side electrical panel within the engine room and in the fire hydrant locker. This pump will supply 2 fire hydrants positioned to cover all areas of the vessel.
  3. Fire fighting equipment provided at fire hydrant point (sited in a fire locker) c/w fire hose and nozzle with instantaneous connections and quick release valves.
  4. Secondary pump - (main) engine driven - self-priming - capacity 18.5m/hr at 650rpm – electrically operated clutch powered from both the domestic and starboard battery bank. Clutch engaged via switches located on the port side electrical panel within the engine room and in the fire hydrant locker
  5. Pipe for all above systems to be a mixture of Cupro-nickel press type, Parker 421 SN (low pressure) non-metallic and flexible PVC hose (with spiral helix)

  1. Smoke alarm system with central alarm at monitoring panel & sensors in all accommodation cabins (including crew), Crew Mess, Saloon & bilge spaces. Heat detection in Garage, Galley & Engine Room
