Recently race prepared for skipper James Harayda, ?Gentoo? is in great shape for the next Vend?e Globe Series culminating in 2028. Originally designed for Alex Thomson by Finot-Conq, the beamy and powerful ?Hugo Boss? finished 2nd in the Barcelona World Race in 2008. This boat has been continually optimised including a comprehensive refit in 2018 with the addition of??foils, new coach roof, structural reinforcements and new ballast configuration. All systems have been serviced annually including NDT of mast and keel; the boat is fully IMOCA class certified 2024. Further upgrades to the boat include new standing rigging, mainsail, J2, J3, and small Gennaker (2024), rudder bearings & Mastervolt system (2023).

Gentoo would make an ideal platform for a motivated sailor to launch into IMOCA sailing. The addition of the foils makes this vessel a great contender for a successful IMOCA campaign.
