"Flying Fish" History
"FLYING FISH combines exceptional sailing performance, shallow draft versatility, offshore capability, and comfortable accommodations in one remarkably efficient cruising trimaran.
Designed by renowned multihull designer Chris White and professionally built by Charlie Pingree at Banks Cove Boatworks, Flying Fish was constructed to Chris White's design scantlings using WEST System epoxy throughout. The vessel has benefited from continuous professional maintenance and thoughtful upgrades by her builder-owner since launch.
Flying Fish regularly cruises at 8-9 knots under sail and is capable of speeds exceeding 20 knots. Under power, her Yanmar 51 hp diesel drives the boat comfortably at 8 knots while consuming approximately 1.3 gallons per hour, providing a cruising range of approximately 500 nautical miles.
Many experienced sailors consider the Hammerhead 54 one of Chris White's finest designs, combining exhilarating performance with remarkable comfort and ease of handling.
