Disclaimer

Here is story of the Ponyup transformation:

As a kid growing up in Argentina, Delponte was fascinated by transportation and going on journeys.

He grew up traveling around the country with his uncle. The idea of long trips and gazing out the window from a bed bunker where everything moved like a movie left a lasting impression and shaped his view on transportation. Italian, German, and Japanese designs were huge sources of inspiration. He was always amazed by the designer's and industry's ability to develop bold products.

Gabriel Delponte partnered with Mr. Hanks, who shared a similar passion, to redesign the interior of his 68-plus Italian Azimut vessel, upgrading the cabin from the ground up.

Delponte's concept led to a unique approach. The materials chosen for this project included wood-like textile laminated, developed in the first half of the twentieth century to significantly replace the wood with more durable material, giving the interior an organic feeling and a high-tech look.

Additionally, Delponte combined rapid prototyping tooling in aerospace with a marine-like industry look.

One of the essential features for Delponte was the capability of enlarging the space to double the size for a more relaxed feeling with less distraction and more connection with the sea all throughout from the windows, providing a more lounge-like relaxing space.

Respecting the DNA of the original yacht from 2003, Delponte set foot on a project where he could express full freedom in a new territory that allowed him to think out of the box.

The simplicity and functionality of the interior concept are truly extraordinary and an upgrade to this 2003 Italian yacht. While this project evolved, Delponte took over several small tasks to improve function and safety. He created the opportunity to develop new, one-of-a-kind products, limited edition.

Mr. Hanks and Delponte committed to this project during COVID-19 and set foot to start and finish it.

Every single part of the cabin, from floor to ceiling and accessories, was explicitly designed. About 80% of this part was hand-built in Miami Beach Marina. Delponte stated: "His return from living in Japan to Miami became 2 great years of his career and partnership to push the envelope."

Delponte's formal training began as a painter. In the last few years, he developed his passion for design as he worked on limited-edition products for collectors. He has exhibited prolifically in several countries, including Argentina, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, the United States, Italy, and Costa Rica, among others.

About the interior design of the yacht.

Delponte set some specific points, such as doubling the space in width and height to enlarge the interior real estate, improving functionality and comfort, and streamlining with a futuristic approach by reshaping the vessel into a timeless interior work. He uses high-quality materials, for example, phenolic textile composite, natural fibers, leather, and titanium. With this vision in mind, 100 % was fully custom for his specific purpose, to create a one-of-a-kind project not even leaving the light to be a one-of-a-kind product.
The design commenced with the rebuilding and upgrading of the mounting system which later supported all the parts of the interior. ReWire and make an easy disassemble.

His updates are distinguished from other boats by its aesthetics. For him, the inspiration was to reinterpret a retro look that you'll find in most old science fiction movies. Delponte combined a contemporary feeling with a classic style of this era. This concept explores a full range of ideas for an artistic design. His imagination revealed a sense of playfulness of a modern mind.

As we walk into the space, we encounter the simplest wooden floor that can be seen in old classic boats where the lines follow the curves of the steps into a single piece. The sitting area was simplified in 2-steps. You'll see an elongated couch giving the feeling of a playground made out of green leather, starting from the entrance door and ending at the front of the cabin. He incorporated a simple cabinet with a bar and countertop for entertainment in the right hand, which blends into the wall.

In the center are handles that feel like sculptures from the tables, reminding him of the design of the children's parks model of Isamu Noguchi. The night lights give a soft illumination representing lighthouses and give at night a soft touch. The ceiling has been executed onto single panels that contour the original shape of the boat with custom light strategically placed to make them feel like stars reflecting on a whale's belly.

Other features: titanium columns to support the flybridge and enlargement of the bridge area for recreation and leisure as well the enlargement of the front pad allows up to 10 people to enjoy those open rides sea and city canals.
The entrance side door now can be opened to the interior of the basel for better docking and protection of doors. latches and hinges were designed and built for this purpose.
