Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII 2009 "STELLA"

INTRODUCTION:

STELLA's current owner has spared no expense in both upgrades and preventative maintenance. Improvements and significant maintenance (beyond the extensive normal annual service) since 2022 includes:

• New Raymarine electronics package
• New Fusion Apollo stereo
• Toe rail varnish stripped and redone
• Hull Awlgripped Corinthian Blue
• New holding tank with overboard discharge option
• Extensive engine work including cleaning coolers and heat exchangers, new raw water pumps, new exhaust elbows, rebuilt alternators and starters, PTO pumps serviced, transmissions removed and painted and more
• New house and start batteries
• New cockpit pilothouse window covers

HULL and DECK:

• Corinthian Blue Awlgrip topsides (2022)
• Off White gelcoat cabin house and deck with painted nonskid.
• Double Off White Boot stripe

Construction:

• Hull: Hinckley DualGuard® Composite Construction Kevlar/E-glass hybrid outer skin with aircraft grade end-grain balsa below the waterline, and a Carbon-fiber inner skin. Laminated with a vinylester resin (SCRIMP®).
• Deck: E-glass outer and inner skin with aircraft grade end grain balsa and closed-cell foam core. Laminated with vinylester resin using (SCRIMP®).
• Marelon ® ball valve seacocks with thru hulls below waterline and Marelon ® thru hulls above waterline.

• Swim Platform - Heavy-duty fiberglass swim platform with teak insert treads, S/S bracket and S/S half-round rubrail
• Quarterguard painted to match hull with stainless steel half round rubrail extends forward from swim platform to protect tumblehome

• S/S telescoping 3-step folding swim ladder that stores under swim platform
• Swim platform handle on transom painted to match the hull

Deck:

• Rounded, tapered, varnished teak toe rail with Hinckley profile

• Stainless steel (S/S) half-round on fiberglass molded rub rail
• Flush molded, foredeck anchor locker with hinged hatch and fold-out anchor roller
• Varnished teak eyebrow molding around cabin top
• (5) Varnished teak handrails port and starboard on cabin top, port and starboard on pilothouse top and aft end of pilothouse

INTERIOR:

The interior is finished in satin-varnished cherry and an acoustic foam headliner with cherry trim. The cabin sole is varnished teak and tulipwood and has a custom cabin sole cover. Louvered cherry locker doors and (5) Frigast stainless steel bulkhead lights add to the cabin ambience.

Entry is from the pilothouse tri-hatch folding companionway to the Galley to port, private Head to starboard and the V-berth accommodations forward.

Galley (Port):

• Abalone Corian countertop
• Stainless steel under mounted sink bowl with Corian cover with single-lever fixtures, and hot and cold pressure water.
• Sea Frost refrigeration - 12-volt cold plate refrigerator in a self-draining insulated box
• Single burner electric cook-top with Corian cover

• Built-in bin for dish stowage and cup stowage under the microwave

• Additional storage is provided in companionway step, outboard and under the galley sink.

The stove is set in the countertop and has a custom stove cover that adds to the already ample counter space surrounding the sink. The sink also has a Corian cover. Microwave is built in outboard. The refrigeration is mounted aft and is accessed by a counter lift-up top. A "pantry" locker with louvered door and several shelves separates the galley from the forward V-berth area and houses the stereo system.

Head (Next aft starboard):

• Storage is provided by cherry faced lockers above and outboard the vanity, a drawer with a cherry face beside the marine head, and a locker under the vanity.

V-Berth (Forward):

• V-berth has a removable insert to form a double berth, with cushion

• Storage lockers under V-berth have easy-access cherry drop-front doors.

• Cedar-lined hanging locker is just aft of the V-berths to starboard.
• Additional storage under V-berths and 2-drawers under V-Berth seat
• (2) Stereo speakers are mounted port and starboard on the forward bulkhead.

• Victron Multiplus 12V/3000/120 pure sine wave inverter/charger with 100-amp 12-volt multi-stage battery charging capability

• Glendinning retractable 50-amp 110/220 shore power cord with wireless remote (cable replaced 2023)
• Two (2) 12-volt AGM Group 31 starting batteries (2022)
• Two (2) 12-volt AGM Group 4D house batteries (2023)
• 12-volt Bass distribution panel using thermo-magnetic breakers with volt and amp meters
• Three (3) 115-amp 12-volt DC battery alternators - one for house and one for each start battery
• Heavy-duty battery parallel switch allows emergency starting. Remote switches in head equipment locker
• Low resistance, copper wire and sacrificial zinc anode bonding system and zinc saver

Generator - Cummins Onan 9 KW generator with sound shield (188.5 hours September 2024)
